Colin Cooper

Lieutenant Cooper is originally from Jackson, MS. He graduated from Forest Hill High School in 2001, and he later graduated with his Associates Degree from Hinds Community College.  He began his career with the Crystal Springs Police Department in 2007 where he was a Patrol Officer as well as a NRA certified firearms instructor.  Lt. Cooper was hired at the Byram Police Department in 2011 as one of the first patrolmen when the city incorporated.  He worked his way through the ranks of Field Training Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and Training Sergeant.  Lt. Cooper is a member of the Metro SWAT team, is an FBI certified Firearms Instructor, as well as a State of Mississippi Certified Instructor.  Cooper was promoted to the rank Lieutenant in 2023 and is currently serving as the Lieutenant of Administrative support which includes Dispatch, Records, Accreditation, and Training.
