File a Complaint

We strive to provide the highest quality police services to our community and the individuals that we come into contact with. Your trust, confidence, and support are vital to successful police service. We want you to have ready access to the police administration to better foster understanding and acceptance of police procedures and aid in the prevention, detection, and correction of improper or undesirable practices.

The Byram Police Department has adopted a policy that strives to provide a fair, orderly, and uniformly applied process for receiving, investigating, and resolving complaints of alleged police misconduct.

Before filing your complaint, we recommend that you contact the on-duty police supervisor at (601) 372-2327 for a potential immediate resolution to your concern. Complaints against Byram Police employees may be filed below or by completing the Citizen Complaint Form and submitting it via Fax to (601) 346-7081 or U.S. Postal Service to “Police Chief, 141 Southpointe Dr., Byram, MS 39272”.

You have the right to make a complaint against a police officer for any improper police conduct. You may make the complaint and have it investigated if you believe the officer behaved improperly. This agency may find after investigation that there is not enough evidence to warrant action on your complaint. By submitting your complaint, you agree that you have read and understood the above statement and attest by penalty of perjury that the information contained in this complaint is true and correct.

Leave blank to remain anonymous - Anonymous complaints may be difficult to investigate.
