The Fire Marshal is an administrative and supervisory position.  He performs duties of fire prevention which involve fire inspections to insure fire and building code compliance and to investigate the cause of fires.  His duties are performed with a large degree of independence within established department rules and regulations, but under the general supervision of the Fire Chief.  The Fire Marshall performs plans reviews with the help of the Fire Chief before a release for construction is given.
